Darius Fisher, president and cofounder of Status Labs, serves high-profile figures, celebrities, and politicians with their digital control needs. Online reputation management, digital marketing and public relations are all phrases that didn’t seem so important thirty years ago, but Status Labs has risen from the future of our world’s status. Everything is online, the good and the bad. And there is a growing need for experts in the field to help people in the spotlight create a positive image for themselves online.

Fisher’s talented team of 30 employees started in an office in Austin, Texas. They have since spread to New York and Sao Paulo, expanding their reach to over 1,500 clients in 35 countries.

Darius Fisher explained at a recent conference he attended at Impact15 that, “while you can’t completely control your digital footprint, you can positively impact your online presence.” And that is exactly what Status Labs is in business for. Knowing his way around Google search, Fisher advises his clients on what and how to share content online. The first page results of a google search in your name or business is the equivalent to a first impression in today’s world. Fisher talked about changing Google’s search results in a recent interview with DuJour, explaining the amount of effort and work it takes. The creation of new content that is shining a good light on a client can make an amazing difference on the first page of Google search.

Fisher may be serving a majority of upper class individuals, but his advice is useful for anybody. An obvious concern, personal information should be private. Phone numbers, addresses, and anything that can track you down specifically, needs to be removed to avoid hazards online like hackers.
A lot of people don’t understand the reason why someone would want a private “social media” account, but Fisher advices using these privacy settings if you aren’t a public figure or someone wanting to gain attention for business online.
Finally, changing your passwords frequently is not a joke. It’s highly important to keep these changing, especially with so many computers using auto-fill, you can never be sure if you’re fully logged out of a public computer, changing the password on an account can make you feel at ease that your information is safe with you.
